COMPANY BACKGROUND

Like many successful companies, Realtec began in search for something better. Realtec represented a dream of founder Steve Stansfield, to assemble a nucleus of high-energy, highly-educated commercial specialists who could dominate the Northern Colorado market. This dream was shared by other experienced brokers who would later join the company.

Realtec was originally founded as a real estate development company in 1983 by Steve Stansfield. With the addition of Dan Eckles in 1989, the company transitioned from development activities to a full-service commercial real estate brokerage company. Brokers in the Fort Collins based company include Steve Stansfield, Rhys Christensen, Peter Kast, Larry Stroud, Michael Ehler, Jason Ells, Jeffrey Doran, Aki Palmer, Nate Heckel, Eric Nichols and Peter Kelly. To gain a regional presence in northern Colorado, Realtec has opened three satellite offices. Broker Larry Melton established the Realtec Loveland office in 1994. Other brokers in the Loveland office include Tom Reznik, Fae Hicks, Ken Voss, Jack Trethewey, Ken McCrady and Patrick O'Donnell. In an effort to capitalize on the rapidly emerging Greeley market, Realtec added a Greeley office in 1995. Bernie Blach, Mark Bradley, Nick Berryman, Steve Griffith, Kate Struzenberg, and Renee Wehrung comprise the Realtec Greeley team. In 2007, Dan Eckles, Jim Mokler and Patty Spencer opened an office in downtown Fort Collins with the addition of Rick Callan in 2008. The Realtec Downtown office was established to broaden our spheres of influence in Fort Collins and strengthen the company as a whole.

With a strong nucleus of brokers and a very capable staff, Realtec has increased synergy and production. Realtec has maintained it’s position as the dominant force in the Northern Colorado marketplace for over ten years.

In evaluating reasons for Realtec’s success, the major contributing factor has been recruiting the right people that share common ideologies:
